I succeeded to sustain populations of Vallonia costata, Vallonia pulchella, Cochlicopa lubrica, Pupilla muscorum and Oxychilus draparnaudi snails in containers, filled with water or lined with small grained soil. In other cases I raised the snails in covered boxes.

In rearing containers I helminths flukes cardboard box or pieces of bark as shelter and fed the snails with pieces of fresh vegetables. The moisture was provided by wet textile placed beneath the helminths flukes and immersed in water, or by water-filled Petridish at the center of the container.
